Man Arrested For Beating Wife To Death During A Fight

A man, Emmanuel Okpara, has landed in big trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging his 40-year old wife, Patience Johnson, in a fight and beating her to death. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Okpara, has been arrested by Police operatives and he is now facing murder charge, which attracts life imprisonment.
According to the Police, on 26th March, 2024, the son of the deceased identified as Destiny, went to Elere Police Division  and reported that he received a call from a neighbour that his mother was brutally beaten by her husband, leaving her with serious injuries.
The Police stated that the said son, Destiny, immediately visited his mom and found her badly injured vomitting blood. The said husband, Emmanuel Okpara, who inflicted the injuries was nowhere in sight.
Destiny then rushed his mom to the Orile Agege General Hospital, where she received treatment until she sadly passed away at about 6am on 28th  March, 2024, due to the injuries she sustained as a result of the beating.
The corpse of the deceased was removed from the hospital to an undisclosed mortuary for autopsy report while the matter was reported to the Police, who arrested the suspect and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said he is currently in detention as investigation into the matter is ongoing.
He stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged murder after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
