Man Arrested For Buying Stolen Toyota Camry Car

A 35-year old man, Solanke Kehinde, has landed in trouble after he reportedly bought a Toyota Camry car from suspected armed robbers for N350, 000 and was later caught with the vehicle in Lagos.

P.M.EXRESS reports that the incident happened at Agege area of Lagos, where he was apprehended by the operatives of disbanded SARS and detained for interrogation in order to produce the person who sold the Toyota Camry car to him.

According to Police sources, he had already changed the documents of the vehicle to reflect his own name yet he was unable to prove that the Toyota Camry car was genuinely bought.

The suspect, Kehinde, was unable to produced the person that sold the vehicle to him but only told the Police that it was one Mr. Samuel with no known address that sold the vehicle.

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable, impounded the vehicle as exhibit and charged Kehinde before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and receiving stolen property.


He pleaded not guilty. 


The prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence the police had alleged.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O.Ajibade, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.


He was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.The matter was adjourned till 19th October, 2020, for mention.
