Man Batters Pastor For Giving Wife False Prophecies
MICHAEL AKINOLA
A 38-year old man, Stanley Ezeagu and his friend, Uka Ikechukwu, 34, have been arrested for allegedly battering a Pastor over fake prophecies.
The Pastor, Omega Ihezue Chukwuemeka, was said to have escaped death after he was attacked and almost dragged inside a water well for allegedly giving a housewife, Mrs. Jennifer Ezeagu, false prophecies against her husband, Stanley Ezeagu, in order to destroy their marriage in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the alleged incident of assault against Pastor Omega happened at Brethren Avenue, Ejigbo, Lagos, where they reside.
Trouble was said to have started after Pastor Omega pestered Stanley’s wife, Jennifer, with prophecies about her husband, telling her he saw her husband living adulterous life and mentioned one woman living in the neighbourhood as one of those her husband was sleeping with.
According to Jennifer, when her husband leaves for work, Pastor Omega will come to meet her reeling out false prophecies about her husband in order to destroy her marriage. She then told her husband what the Pastor was doing and she started avoiding him.
On the day the incident happened, Pastor Omega went to the house to rent an apartment and he had altercation with Jennifer. She then contacted her husband, who came with his friend and battered him.
According to Pastor Omega, the two men dragged and attempted to throw him inside a water well before he was rescued and taken to Ejigbo Police Division. He was detained before a petition was written against the two men at Zone D Command, Mushin, Lagos.
After interrogation, the Police found Stanley and his friend, Uka, culpable and subsequently charged them before Isolo Magistrates Court for conspiracy and assault.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale, asked the Court to give a short date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that they committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A O. Akokhia, granted them bail with two different sureties and ordered their remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 10th August, 2021, for mention.
