It was an unforgettable moment for a man, Pius Gwaza, who went to his wife’s shop and caught her having sex with a 34-year old bricklayer, identified as Hamza, who brutally attacked and injured him in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the alleged incident happened at Kuruduma, Asokoro, FCT, Abuja, where Pius rented a shop for his wife, Gloria.
He was said to have gone to the shop without informing the wife and eventually caught her in the act, which nearly cost him his life because he suffered serious injury and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The suspect, Hamza, who resides at Zaman Gida, Asokoro, Abuja, has been arrested and charged before the Court for adultery, trespass and assault.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr. Edwin Ochayi, told the Court that the matter was reported to the team of Policemen attached to the Asokoro Police Station, Abuja, after the defendant criminally trespassed into the shop of one Gloria Joseph, wife of Pius Gwaza of Kuruduma, Asokoro, Abuja and was having sex with her.
Ochayi said that when Gloria’s husband caught them, the defendant engaged him in a fight and in the process used a sharp object to inflict injury on him and the wife.
He said that during Police investigation, the defendant voluntarily confessed to committing the alleged offence, which contravened the provision of Sections 97, 242 and 387 of the Penal Code.
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The Presiding Judge, Mr. Umar Mayana, declined granting the defendant bail and ordered him to be remanded in Keffi Correctional Centre pending the completion of Police investigation.
The matter was adjourned till 4th April, 2023, for mention to determine if the Police had concluded the investigations.
