Man Caught On CCTV Stealing Perfume, Other Items Inside Super Market

A 38-year old man, Emmanuel Ezem, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he went to a popular super market and stole some items including a perfume and was caught on CCTV.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at All-In-One super market located at Igando area of Lagos.

The items he allegedly stole included perfume, wrist watch and phone worth N46,000 belonging to the company.

The suspect reportedly picked the items, hid them on his body and tried to escape; the security man on duty, who monitored him, accosted and  apprehended him.

He was handed over to the Police at Igando Division, where he reportedly admitted and the items were recovered as exhibits.

Having been found culpable, he was subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for stealing and he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Simeo Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing for the Police to prove that he actually stole the items.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A. S. Okubule, granted him bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.

He was remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 20th January, 2021.
