A 31-year old Temitope Adeyemi has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly consuming packs of Indomie noodles worth N17,000 at a joint without paying a dime.

The incident happened at College of Medicine around Idi-araba area of Lagos where the owner, Mrs Olumbo Labake sells the food. The suspect was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for stealing the prepared noodles worth the amount and for being in possession of a phone suspected to be stolen.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that many people including the litigants present at the court wondered how the suspect would have eaten N17,000 worth of noodles the same day. The suspect was said to have gone to the noodles joint and asked the seller to prepare the food which the police said he ate and had no money to pay the bill.

He was said to have deposited a phone in exchange for the food he ate but the seller rejected it and contacted the police to arrest him. He was arraigned before the court for being in possession of a stolen phone and eating noodles worth the said amount.

However, when there was doubt on the allegation by the police, the prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale asked the court to strike out the first count of eating Indomie noodles while the second count of being in possession of suspected stolen phone was sustained.

He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mr O.A. Ogbe granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition and the matter was adjourned till 9th of October, 2017.
