Man In Police Net Over Gang Rape Of Girl, 16, With Accomplice

Police operatives from the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command have arrested a suspect, Nkanang David, while his compliance is now at large for allegedly gang raping a 16-year old girl and inflicting injury on her private part.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 2nd  December, 2025, at Peninsula Estate, Abijo – Ajah,Lagos.

 

The 25-year old David has been charged for the alleged conspiracy and defilement under the Criminal Law of the State.

 

According to the Police, the suspect and one other person now at large, lured the victim to an apartment, engaged her in sex romp one after the other and having satisfied themselves, they allowed her to go.

 

The matter was reported to the Police. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained him at the Command for interrogation over his involvement in the act.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Nkanang David ‘m’ and one other now at large, on the 2nd day of December, 2025, at about 1900hours, at Peninsula Estate, Abijo – Ajah. Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: defilement and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Nkanang David ‘m’ and one other now at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘f 16years old, by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
