Three weeks after the marriage between a housewife, Sadiya Salihu and her husband, Muhammed Mundi, was consummated in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, it has collapsed over the wife’s inability to satisfy him sexually.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embittered husband, Mundi, ordered his embattled wife to leave his home because she was denying him sex despite the fact he just newly got married to her.
Following the development, Mrs. Salihu has filed a suit before the Upper Area Court, Gwagwalada, seeking for the dissolution of her marriage to the husband, Muhammed Mundi, for lack of love and care.
The embattled Mrs. Salihu told the Court that she got married to Mundi in December 2022 according to Islamic Personal Law and she moved into his house as his wife.
”This marriage was contracted in Suleja on 17th December,  2022. Just three days after the wedding, I noticed some changes in the defendant’s character towards me.”
“On 7th January,  2023, he told me that I should get my things ready because he was returning me to my sister’s place in Gwagwalada.”
“I called my people and when they came, I followed them back to Gwagwalada. When I was in my parents’ house, he called and ordered me to move my things out,” she said.
Mrs. Salihu urged the Court to dissolve the marriage on the grounds of lack of love and care so that she will move on with her life.
However, the husband, Mr. Mundi, who was present in Court, in his response said that his wife denies him sex and there was no way the marriage would have worked if he cannot have sex with her as his wife.
The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, having realized the real cause of the quarrel, advised the couple to explore a means of settlement to see if the marriage will still work out.
The matter was adjourned till 14th February, 2023, for hearing for possible reconciliation and settlement of the matter.
