Man Sent To Prison For Beating Wife To Coma For Cursing Him

A trader at Ladipo market, Innocent Ogbedi has beaten his wife, Stella to coma after his wife abused him and rained curses on his family over allegation that he was not taking good care of her.
The incident happened at 35, Kogberegbe Street, Isolo, Lagos where they reside.
The mother of one suffered her fate after she accused her husband of not taken care of her and their child, a development which has led to constant quarrel in the family.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Stella was angry that Innocent had not completed her marriage rites to her family despite the fact that they already had a child.
She also alleged that he does not take good care of her.
However, all Innocent could said in response was that they have to manage until things improve but this did not go down well with Stella who it was learnt rained abuses on him constantly.
On the day the incident happened, Stella reportedly started abusing Innocent and raining curses that God will punish his generation.
In anger, Innocent grabbed her and rained blows on her after which she collapsed and fainted.
He later rushed her to Isolo General Hospital where doctors battled and revived her.
The matter was then reported to the police who arrested Innocent, taken him to court where he was arraigned for assault.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr A.U. Ojeo did not object to his bail and pleaded that the court should consider the bail condition so that he will come for trial.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.
The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
As he was being taken to prison, both wife and husband broke down in tears with the wife pleading that she was no longer interested in the matter.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the couple slept together and came to the station before Innocent was charged to court.
