Two Epe Natives Sent To Prison For Allegedly Damaging Late Lanre ‘KLM’ Rasaq’s Property

Operatives of the Nigerian Police Zone 2 Command, Lagos have arrested two Epe natives, Musbau Oloruntoyin Amsdau, 63, and Fuad Adebayo Amuni, 45, for allegedly maliciously damaging the gate of a block making company, Kim Block Industry and stole iron rods and other valuables valued at N5 million belonging to late politician and businessman, Chief Lanre Rasaq.

The two suspects have been dragged before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court following a petition by the family of the Late Rasaq fondly called KLM to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Adegoke Fayoade who directed his men to arrest the defendants.

After investigation by the Oracle Unit team of the Command, the defendants were charged before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court at the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, malicious damage and stealing.

Police prosecuting Counsel, ASP Jimoh Joseph informed the court that the defendants committed the offence on 7 September, 2025 Ogunude Street, Ebute Afuye, near Oluwa Market, Epe, Lagos.

Joseph told the Court that the defendants invaded the block industry to maliciously and willfully damage the gate and stole valuables valued at N5 million for no justifiable reasons.

He said the offences, the defendants committed were punishable under sections 411,350 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants, however pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate A.O Alogba granted him N500,000 bail with two surties in like sum.

Alogba adjourned the case till 16 December, 2025 for mention and ordered that the defendants be detained at the Ikoyi correctional facility till they perfected the bail conditions.
