Man Stabbed Friend 7 Times With Broken Bottle Over Money

Stabbed Oseni Taofeek

A 29-year old man, Azeez Akuife has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for stabbing his bosom friend, Oseni Taofeek after he got information that Taofeek received some money from contribution worth thousand of naira and he didn’t share it with him.

The incident happened along Governor Road in Ikotun area where Taofeek, an Aluminum Engineer resides.

Osun State-born Akuife reportedly stabbed Taofeek seven times with the victim bleeding profusely and was later rushed to a General Hospital for treatment.

Akuife was angry that his friend, Taofeek was paid a contribution and he could not give him any money out of it.
Narrating how it all happened, Taofeek said when they were making the contribution, his friend, Akuife had opportunity to be part of the contributors but refused to join and when his own matured and he collected, he then wanted him to share with him some money from it which he refused. That angered Akuife, who ambushed him on the same day he received the money and attacked him with broken bottle severally.
The matter was reported to the police at Ikotun division and Akuife was arrested and charged to court with the alleged offence.
At the Ejigbo Magistrate’s court where he was arraigned, Akuife was charged with assault under the Criminal code.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in Kirikiri prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 19 December 2016.
