Man Steals Pastor’s Laptop After Failed Deliverance

A 33-year old man, Benedict Nwogbo has been arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrate’s court for allegedly stealing a computer laptop belonging to a pastor of a Pentecostal church in Lagos.
The incident happened at Calvary Bible Church located at Idimu in Alimosho Local government area of Lagos under the supervision of the victim,  Pastor Omobuwa Livingstone.

Nwogbo, the suspect told the police that he was forced to steal the laptop and sold it for N20,000, which he used to buy some drugs to treat the sickness that brought him to the church, while waiting to be healed by the pastor’s prayers.

The suspect said since he stole the item and used it to buy those drugs, he had seen a remarkable improvement and was getting better before he was arrested.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was Nwogbo’s brother, a member of Pastor Livingstone’s church, who took him to the church for prayer and deliverance.
Our Correspondent learnt that when it appeared there was a delay in Nwogbo receiving healing as he anticipated, he decided to treat himself but had no money and then reportedly targeted the laptop, stole and sold it.
When the pastor was now searching for his laptop, one of the church members who saw Nwogbo with the laptop, alerted the pastor who then confronted him.
The matter was reported to the police at Idimu division who arrested the suspect and interrogated him.

He then admittedly told the police that he had already sold it to treat himself.
He was charged to court where he leaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr A.U. Ojei did not object his bail, rather he reminded the court the incident happened at a place of worship and a pastor was also involved in the matter.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.K. Shonubi granted Nwogbo bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail.
The matter was adjourned till 8 February 2017.
