Man Swindles FG, Receives Pension For 10 years Without Retirement

A young man, John Brown who had been receiving pension from the Federal government for the past 10 Years without retiring has been finally arrested over the alleged fraud.

The suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Directorate of Security Service, DSS who uncovered his illegal collection of the pension for the past years without retiring from the Federal Service.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that Brown smuggled his name into the list of retired civil servants and was receiving from the Pension Scheme in Lagos State.
He was said to have been collecting the money every month since 2007. When calculated the money ran into millions of Naira until it was discovered by the DSS.

It was gathered that the DSS detected the alleged fraud and arrested the suspect who reportedly confessed to have been doing so for survival. Many were surprised how he managed to smuggle his name among the retirees. Some said he might have conspired with some government officials to swindle the government.

He was subsequently arraigned and charged before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged fraud.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Adedayo granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 16 January, 2018.
