Marketing Communication Czar, Tunji Olugbodi Loses Dad, Pa Joshua Oyedele Olugbodi

The Olugbodi family of Ara Kingdom in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State has announced the passing of their patriarch, Chief Joshua Oyedele Olugbodi, a revered community leader and retired senior executive of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Chief Olugbodi died on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the age of 94.

Beyond his distinguished career in the nation’s apex bank, he was celebrated for his service to his community, where he held the traditional title of Bobagunwa of Ara and also served as Chairman of Egbedore Local Government, Osun State.

A philanthropist known for his generosity and commitment to community development, Chief Olugbodi left a legacy of leadership and service that resonated deeply across Ara Kingdom and beyond. He is survived by his wife, Grace Olabisi, along with many children and grandchildren.

One of his children, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi, Executive Vice Chairman of Verdant Zeal Communications Ltd and the Asiwaju of Ara, described the loss as a painful moment for the family.

“We are devastated by the death of Baba and we are sad to see him go, but we are grateful to God for his life of sacrifice, impact and exemplary service to mankind,” he said.

Burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
