Police operatives in Lagos State have started manhunt for a married woman, Mrs. Amudat Oyero Guineabo, who allegedly abducted an 8-year old love child, Munachi Egwuh, during his birthday party in order to placate her current husband because she was unable to bear him a male child.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ikechukwu Ogujiuba Street, Ayobo area of Lagos, where the party was held.

It was gathered that the father of the missing boy, Ebuka Egwuh, was into a relationship and had wanted to get married to Amudat but her parents refused on the ground that he was from the Igbo stock and also did not have a Muslim background.

The relationship broke up but by then Amudat was already pregnant for Ebuka and was eventually delivered of the baby boy, now Munachi.

However, after she was delivered of the boy, 11 months later, she went and dumped the baby with Ebuka’s mother and got married to another man as her parents wished who she lives with and had two daughters for.

The marriage was said to have become turbulent because Amudat was unable to bear a male child for her husband and the perceived threat to her marriage forced her to remember that she had a baby boy for Ebuka, who she had dumped at 11 months. She was said to have started making moves to take the boy back to placate her husband in order to stabilize her marriage.

The opportunity then came on 26th September, 2021, on Munachi’s birthday. Amudat reportedly arranged and took the boy away during the party to an unknown place, which caused confusion at the event. She was later contacted and she claimed that she had taken the boy to her husband to train because she was the mother of the boy.

The matter was reported to the Police at Ayobo Division.

When she was contacted for amicable settlement of the matter, she declined and said she had taken the child to her husband. Efforts were made by Human Rights group, known as Campaign for the Defence of Human Rights to resolve the issue. They invited her in order to resolve the matter but she rebuffed them insisting that she has given the boy to her husband to adopt as his child since she was unable to bear him a male child.

This was confirmed by Mr. Ebuka’s mother of Ebuka, Mrs. Veronica Egwuh, who felt disappointed by her conduct after she took care of her and the baby.

She stated that her son wanted to get married to Amudat but her parents resisted and the marriage did not hold. But by then, she was already pregnant and her parents drove her away.

Mrs. Veronica said she accepted her and took care of her and the baby until she was delivered of the baby and continued to take care of them. She stated that it was when the baby was 11 months that Amudat abandoned the baby, got married to another man and every efforts to locate her proved abortive until after seven years.

Ebuka’s mother said when the boy turned 8 years, they invited Amudat for the boy’s birthday celebration as she requested. But on that day, she came carefully planned, abducted the boy and vanished. She said Amudat cannot give the boy to her husband because the boy’s father is still alive while every efforts by the Police to locate her and the boy has proved abortive.

When our correspondent contacted Amudat on her phone number 07068995194, it rang but she refused to pick the calls.
