The decision of Victor Moses to suddenly retire from the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been described as totally unacceptable by millions of football loving Nigerians . This was revealed by Patrick Paschal, coordinator of the team.
In an exclusive chat with PM EXPRESS , Paschal, former Nigerian international said that Moses has contributed tremendously to the success story of the Super Eagles since he switched allegiance from England to wear the national colours of Nigeria and he is hoping that the Chelsea player will change his mind and win more caps for Nigeria in the future.
“I believe that millions of Nigerian football fans will not accept the retirement of Victor Moses from the national team. He took a personal decision and Nigerians should respect his decision . However, when you consider the contributions of Moses to the Super Eagles and knowing that he is still very young , I want to believe that he is needed in the Eagles”, Paschal said.
“We know that Moses brings great quality to the Super Eagles and there is no doubt that he played a major role in the success of the team at AFCON 2013 tournament that Nigeria won in South Africa. Nigerians will never forget in a hurry the role he played when Nigeria demolished Cameroon 4-0 in Uyo during the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign and this player is still relevant in the next AFCON tournament and even 2022 World Cup in Qatar”, he said.
Super Eagles will play Seychelles in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game at away next weekend and Nigerians should begin to face the reality of watching their darling team without the inputs of the former Wigan Athletics winger unless he has a change of mind from his sudden retirement at 27 years from the national team.
