A sex starved businessman, Isma’il Ibrahim, has dragged his mother in-law, Mrs. Zainab Muhammad, before the Court for depriving him access to his wife for several months after he impregnated and allegedly dumped her in the hospital over medical bills.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embattled Ibrahim filed the suit before the Shari’a Court at Rigasa area of Kaduna State, for allegedly refusing to allow his wife return to their matrimonial home.
The complainant, who resides at Police Station Road, Rigasa, told the Court that the mother in-law had stopped his wife from returning home due to his financial situation and since then he had no access to touch his wife.
He claimed that he loved his wife so much and wanted her back to his home and prayed the Court to assist him to get his wife back after the mother has paid the medical bills.
However, the mother in-law, Mrs. Muhammad, admitted before the Court that she stopped her daughter from going back to her matrimonial home due to lack of care by the complainant.
She revealed that her daughter had a Caesarean section during her delivery and she lost the baby in the process due to complications during the operation. And the complainant failed to pay the hospital bills and abandoned the wife at her parent’s house for three months without care.
“He came after three months, requesting for his wife to return to him and I told him she has to stay with me for six months to enable her recover fully.”
“My daughter fell sick after the operation and I was the one that paid for all her medications and feeding throughout the period,’’ she said.
Mrs. Muhammad told the Court that she was ready to hand over her daughter to the husband if he pays all she had spent on medications and feeding for the nine months that he abandoned her.
The Presiding Judge, Malam Abubakar Salisu-Tureta, having listened to the parties, asked the woman to present the total amount she spent on her daughter during the period her husband abandoned her in their care and adjourned the matter till 4th September, 2022, for further hearing.
