MTN Nigeria hosted its inaugural Customer Engagement Day (CED) at MTN Rooftop, Ikoyi, Lagos, delivering on its promise to listen, engage, and co-create with Nigerians at every point in their digital journey.

With the theme “We See You. We’re With You,” the full-day hybrid event was a showcase of customer-centred innovation, real-time feedback and digital empowerment.

From immersive tech demos to authentic conversations with MTN’s leadership, the event provided an unforgettable experience for hundreds of in-person attendees and thousands more online.

The day featured fireside chats, data literacy sessions, a startup pitch challenge, speed mentorship with industry leaders and interactive lounges exploring MoMo PSB, which is MTN’s fintech subsidiary, content creation, and future technologies.

A standout moment was the Karl2U fireside chat, where MTN Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Karl Toriola, responded to live questions from customers.

He spoke candidly about MTN’s evolution from a service provider to a purpose-driven enabler: “We’ve invested heavily to build a network that delivers value for money. While data in Nigeria remains among the most affordable globally, our priority is quality and consistency that truly powers ambition. Today is about transparency: answering your questions, listening to your concerns, and showing that MTN is not just a service provider, we are a partner in your journey.”

In his opening remarks, Ayham Moussa, Chief Operating Officer of MTN Nigeria, emphasised the depth of MTN’s commitment: “When MTN began, it was built by people like you; engineers, entrepreneurs, everyday Nigerians. Today, we connect over 80 million people, and our focus remains simple: to stand with you in your hustle, support your ambitions and make life easier. This journey is about listening, improving daily, and being a shield for homes and businesses across Nigeria.”

One of the day’s most valuable sessions was the Data Usage & Management Conversation, where customers learned practical data-saving tips and discussed everyday challenges.

Ugonwa Nwoye, Chief Customer Relations & Experience Officer at MTN Nigeria, encouraged smarter data habits and reaffirmed MTN’s commitment to transparency: “We know how essential data is, it’s how we live, work, and connect. From parents streaming classes, to small businesses on Zoom, we see your daily realities. That’s why we’re focused not just on providing data but on helping you use it better, with practical tools and tips that put you in control. We hear you, and we’re acting on what you’ve told us today.”

The energy soared during the Speed Mentorship sessions, where youth, entrepreneurs, and SME founders sat with MTN executives and mentors to discuss their goals, ideas, and business challenges.

Over nine-minute rotations, participants received insights into career development, tech adoption, and digital entrepreneurship.

Guests also explored the MoMo Lounge for financial empowerment tools, joined fun challenges at the “Pitch Your Solution” competition, a digital skills academy booth powered by the MTN Foundation and participated in interactive games and tech experiences, including a scavenger hunt powered by MTN’s network.

Closing the day, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Nigeria, reiterated MTN’s dedication to elevating customer voices: “Today has been about listening, learning, and connecting with you. We’ve heard your complaints, your ideas and even your personal stories. From parents balancing their children’s needs, to businesses working tirelessly online, be assured that we listen, we care, and we do. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re committed to turning today’s conversations into real actions. Beyond this event, we want you to leave knowing that MTN sees you, hears you, and is with you.”

From digital conversations on X (formerly Twitter) to laughter-filled photo moments and deep mentorship exchanges, MTN Nigeria’s 2025 Customer Engagement Day achieved its mission of turning connection into collaboration and presence into partnership.

As MTN moves into the next era of service, CED signals a bold shift: from campaigns to commitments, from broadcasting to deep listening, and from being a network provider to becoming a true partner in progress.
