Nasarawa United Boss Denies Rift With Warri Wolves’ Chairman, Says Media Report Baseless

Posted on January 28, 2021

Against the publication making the rounds in one of Nigeria’s national dailies of Wednesday, 27th January, 2021, where it was alleged that Chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Warri Wolves, Moses Etu, attacked the Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Barr. Isaac Danladi, shortly after the Seasiders’ 1-2 home defeat to the Lafia-based outfit on Sunday, last weekend, Barr. Isaac Danladi has come out to refute such allegation, calling it “baseless and a figmentation of the author’s imagination”.

Barr. Danladi asked rhetorically, “Where and how did Moses Etu attack me?”

The Solid Miners’ supremo went on to narrate the hospitality he and his team got while in Delta State for the week six NPFL game against Warri Wolves.

“In fact, I wish to state categorically that since the beginning of the 2020/2021 League Seasons, no club chairman has accorded me the kind of reception I got from Moses Etu in Ozoro.

“Since I arrived Delta State on Saturday, he accorded me and my team warm reception, and even visited me during my team’s training session on Saturday evening at the Delta State Polytechnic stadium, Ozoro to ensure we had unfettered access to the arena.

“And during the match on Sunday, we were still together and had interaction with the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Tony Okowa, who was at the stadium to cheer his team.

“I see the allegation as baseless, amateur journalism and the figment of the writer’s imagination,” the club’s chairman said through a statement from the Media Officer, Eche Amos on Thursday.

Danladi, who also doubles as Chairman, NPFL Club Owners Association of Nigeria, added that Moses Etu is a committed and loyal member of the association and wondered why the author of the publication would derive pleasure in ruining the smooth-sailing relationship they have enjoyed over the years.

“Moses Etu is a member of the Club Owners Association which I chair. And at no point has he been disrespectful or even arrogant to anyone, let alone me as the Chairman.

“The publisher of that story should stop generating tension, especially when everyone is working assiduously to better Nigerian football.

“I think he(publisher) owes me, Etu and the general public an unreserved apology for bringing our names into disrepute” the Chaiman of Nasarawa United Fc stated.

While urging journalists to imbibe the professional discipline of verifying information before it is made public, the Chairman called on members of the forth estate of the realm to use their channels for positive development.
