NATCOM Acting Boss, Jare Adegbenro Clears Air Over Purported N2bn Judgement Debt
The acting Director-General, National Commission Against the Proliferation of Arms, Light Weapons and Pipeline Vandalism (NATCOM), Otunba (Dr ) Jare Adegbenro, has denied receiving nor aware of any summon to appear before the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, Lagos over a purported liquidation of a N2 billion judgement debt.
In a statement on Sunday titled “Alleged Summons of NATCOM Acting DG Over A Purported N2 Billion Judgement Debt” and personally signed by Otunba Adegbenro, he stated that he’s unaware of the alleged pending judicial proceedings but as a law abiding citizen, he has instructed his legal representatives to investigate the allegation and take necessary steps to protect his interest according to the law.
The full statement reads: “My attention has been drawn to a recent news publication about a purported commercial transaction with a third party pending before a court.
“Although I am unaware of the alleged pending judicial proceedings, as law abiding citizen who respects the rule of law, I have informed my legal representatives to investigate the allegation and take necessary steps to protect my interest according to the law.
“I want to assure the general public that I remain committed to my duties, and I urge the general public to only rely on verified sources for accurate information.
“For any further clarification or inquiries, please reach out to my official communication channels. We appreciate the understanding of the public in discerning accurate information from speculative reports.”
