Native Doctor Who Claimed To Be Medical Doctor Docked For Killing Pregnant Woman

A native doctor, Kolawole Idowu, who claimed to be a Medical Doctor, has landed in trouble in Kwara State while  trying to treat a pregnant woman, Bilikis Ayinde, by administering an injection, which made her to collapse and she died due to wrong medication. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, where they reside.
The native doctor, Kolawole Idowu, has been arrested and arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Kwara alongside the deceased woman’s husband, Ibrahim Taiwo, for conspiracy and murder.
They were charged before the Court by the Kwara State Police Command after the Police discovered that the so called doctor, Idowu, was actually a native doctor, who claimed to be a medical doctor and caused the death of deceased.
According to the Police, one Yusuf Ajarat invited the native doctor, Idowu, to ascertain the deceased’s delivery date and he injected her with oxytocin ergometrine, the injection said to have eventually caused her death.
The Presiding Magistrate, Adenike Abioye, ordered the remand of the defendants in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 27th July, 2023, for mention for the DPP’s report to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
