The National Coordinator of Ndigbo Media Forum, one of the major campaigners of the zoning of the position of the President General of Ohanaeze to Ndigbo in Rivers, Rev. Paul Eze, has tasked the new President General,  Senator John Mbata, to reposition the group to meet the needs of Ndigbo worldwide.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Rev.Eze stated this in Lagos State during the press conference to give support to the new leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Senator Mbata.

He noted that repositioning the group is key in order to meet the vision of establishing Ohanaeze by the founding fathers, which has been neglected due to leadership failures over the years.

“It is evident that the previous leaderships in one way or the other dealt a great devastating damage on the psyche of the followers and this fanned the embers of disunity, which eventually led to loss of confidence and trust in Ohanaeze Ndigbo.”

“Ohanaeze at the States has been thriving in instability and unworkable. The group has been dissonant with her aims and objectives. The objectives instead of mirroring the group, mocks her. Rather than the group being an ideal one it is nothing but ordeal.”

Rev.  Eze, while evaluating Ohanaeze, noted that the group has nothing to be celebrated, “Ohanaeze is retrogressing instead of progressing”.

According to him, the onus to solve this leadership dilemma lies on the President General and the committed registered Ohanaeze faithful.

“We must have dos and don’ts. Our credo as a people ought to be clear and distinct, we should not give the impression that in our society everything is permitted. We must wage war against indiscipline and delusion of status, which may be exhibited by some members or leaders.”

“The group, Ndigbo Media Forum, unequivocally lends their support to the leadership of Senator John Mbata. He embodies all the good qualities and components of good leader.”

Ndigbo Media Forum finally asked the new Ohanaeze leadership to give serious attention to the welfare and security of the registered members and afflicted groups.
