NDLEA Arrests Warri Kinsman Over Alleged Importation Of 414.2kg Cannabis Sativa

Efforts of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at curbing illicit drug transaction has received further boost, following the arrest of a Warri kinsman over alleged Importation of 414.2kg cannabis sativa.

The substance is said to be worth over N200 million in street value.

Identified as Emami Ajetsibogho, our correspondent gathered that the suspect was arrested by operatives of the agency attached to the Lagos State Command.

Ajetsibogho, said to be the direct younger brother of a controversial Itsekiri leader, according to report was apprehended in Lagos on 25th June 2025, with the substance sealed in satchets of white and black nylon, concealed in several bags.

The Warri South, Delta State born suspect is said to be so influential, as he has reportedly escaped many attempts at arresting him.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that a former Deputy Governor and APC gubernatorial candidate has made frantic efforts to compromise the NDLEA officials with a bid to sweep the matter under the carpet and get the suspect off the hook, which proved abortive.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Mallum Abdullahi neither confirmed nor denied the report, saying he is out of Lagos.

Meanwhile, a civil society group under the platform of Concerned Citizens for Justice and Accountability, has called on all well-meaning Nigerians, Delta citizens and security agencies to pick keen interest in the matter and demand an immediate, transparent investigation.

President of the Warri Delta State based organization, Casey Wealth, in a statement, said the people deserve to know the truth about the matter, adding that the culture of impunity must end now.

“How long shall we keep quiet while our youths are destroyed and our communities turned into theatres of chaos by drug lords hiding behind political masks? Let this serve as a rallying call.
