New Igbo Group Emerges In Lagos

A new Igbo social- cultural organization called Ndi Igbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria, meaning Igbo should be one has emerged to champion the cause of Ndigbo world-wide.
The inauguration took place recently in Lagos where its founding president, Chief Chika Nwokedi emerged with the executives as the leaders of the group.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that prominent Igbo men and women within and outside Lagos attended the events as hundreds of Ndigbo declared their support and joined the organization.
The inauguration was climaxed with the opening of their National headquarter located at 243 Ijegun Ikotun road Ijegun. Lagos.
Speaking on the group, Nwokedi said that the group is non political organization and only formed to protect and assist Ndigbo anywhere they are doing their business within Nigeria and outside.
He said they have started plans to open branches in all the 57 Local government Areas in Lagos and other states in Nigeria and beyond.
He noted that Ndigbo have suffered intimidation, harassment, neglect and had no group that will speak to such victims, saying that was the essence of forming the organization to assist such individuals.
Nwokedi who was the former leader of Ladipo market and has the title of Oputa Obua of Ndigbo said he was moved with several complaints from individuals who troop to his office for one assistant to the other.
He said he knew that he cannot do it alone and he decided to call other leaders to form the group to assist any Igbo man or woman who really need such assistance.
Nwokedi said that the group was duly registered at Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C) and have been working hard to render services to individuals who have one problem or the other and they have been appreciative of what they are doing.
He said the group also assist individuals who genuinely need assistant in the area of finance for their businesses and assist such member to access loan in the Banks.
He enjoined Ndigbo to be part of the group anywhere they are to join hands to protect Ndigbo noting that the association was created for the benefit of all.
