NFF Crisis: It’s Been Hard For Us At Glass House – Sanusi

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has admitted that it has been very difficult to plan for the Africa Cup Nations Cup qualifying game between the Super Eagles and Seychelles that will take place on 7th September due to the crisis rocking football in the country .

The Scribe of the Federation said that the crisis has caused a lot of challenges regarding the preparation of the Super Eagles for the away game tie , but he is very optimistic that the NFF will surmount the enormous challenges and ensure that the Super Eagles and other national teams get adequate preparation in order to fly the banner of Nigeria high on the field of play.

” I cannot hide the fact that there are big challenges and these challenges are enormous but by the grace of God the Federation will overcome. It is when you have peace that you can plan well for all the football activities of the national teams”, Sanusi said.

“The Super Eagles will play Seychelles in an away fixture and I can assure you that the NFF will do everything possible to make sure that this ugly situation in our football will not affect the performance of the Super Eagles against Seychelles next month”, he added.

He further said that the way forward from the crisis is for every football stakeholder to know that the country’s interest must come first and always be protected , irrespective of collective differences within the football fraternity in Nigeria .

” The way forward is for every football stakeholder to know that the country is greater than all of us. Nigeria is greater than our ambitions and we have to realise that united will stand and divided will fall’, he admonished .

“There is a need for people to sheathe their swords and embrace peace. That is the way forward. When two elephants fight , it is the grass that suffers and in this case , the grass here are the youths of Nigeria that are gainfully employed through football”, he said.
