Ngozi Ezeonu To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At AMTY

Renowned thespian, Ngozi Ezeonu, will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming AMTY award ceremony, scheduled to take place on March 22nd, 2025 in Awka.

 

Born in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, Ezeonu hails from Ogbunike in Anambra State. She began her career in journalism, working at Radio Lagos before transitioning into acting. Her breakthrough role as Nkechi in the Igbo blockbuster “Nneka the Pretty Serpent” in 1994 marked the beginning of a successful acting career.

 

With over 200 Nollywood movies under her belt, Ezeonu has demonstrated her versatility and range, earning her numerous accolades, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Adesuwa” in 2012.

Ezeonu’s impressive filmography includes notable films such as “Glamour Girls,” “Royal Grandmother,” “Agony of a Sister,” “Lion Heart,” and “When Love Beckons.” Her contributions to the industry have also been recognized with chieftaincy titles, including “Ada Ife,” “Ada Di Oramma,” and “Ada Di Uko na Mba.”

In addition to her acting career, Ezeonu has also ventured into production, serving as a producer, executive producer, and director. “Her dedication to the entertainment industry has made her a beloved figure, and this Lifetime Achievement Award is a testament to her enduring legacy” the group said.

The AMTY award ceremony will celebrate Ezeonu’s remarkable contributions to Nollywood and honor her achievements as a thespian, producer, and director.

Other awardees at the upcoming event include Engr Bert Nwibe, Lady Ada Chukwudozie, Prof Okey Esimone, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke,Ikem Mazeli, Prof Joe Ezigbo and many others.
