Nkwocha Rolls Out Actionable Developmental Plans At Grand Installation As President Of Lagos Elites Lions Club

Bold, focused, highly cerebral and result-oriented, an Imo born Lagos based serial entrepreneur and uncommon philantropist, Lion Desmond Nkwocha, was at the weekend in Lagos installed as the Charter President of Lagos Elites Lions Club, one of the clubs that make up District 404 B2 of the International Lions Club.
The watershed event, which took place on Saturday, 29th March, 2025, at the prestigious Aotel Hotel & Suites, Ikeja -Lagos, was used to install other officials of the club as new members were sworn in amid pomp.

Speaking at the event, an obviously elated Nkwocha said that the Club will focus its vision on childhood cancer, hunger relief, environmental actions, diabetes, disaster relief, humanitarian efforts and youth empowerment
The dynamic President of Lagos Elites Lions, Engr. Desmond Nkwocha, thanked members of the club for their dedication, passion, and shared commitment to the ideals of the club.
He added that the club will collaborate with local communities, institutions and partners to address pressing social challenges and bring hope, relief and empowerment to those in need.

He expressed gratitude to Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club for sponsoring club, for believing in its vision and guiding them right.
He however, posited that the event was not just a celebration but a call to action that, “Our fundraising effort is a vital step towards implementing life-changing projects. To our generous guests, partners, and supporters – your contributions will directly impact lives and create lasting change. Every donation, every sponsorship, and every act of kindness counts. We invite you to join us in this noble cause because together, we can achieve,” he said.
A man who wears the garb of honesty, Nkwocha pledged to lead with integrity, passion and dedication.

Also speaking at the public presentation and fundraising event, Lion Tolulope Ayodeji Senbanjo, District Governor, District 404B2 Nigeria, urged Nkwocha to focus on growing his membership, creating exciting activities to retain existing members, and contributing to Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF), which enables the club to make a global impact.
According to the District Governor, “The true measure of success lies not in what we achieve, but in the positive impact we create in the lives of others. I have no doubt that your club will excel in these areas and make a real difference”.
He encouraged the President of Lagos Elites Lions Club, Nkwocha, to be bold, innovative, collaborative and seek out new opportunities, build strong partnerships and empower his members to take ownership of their projects; engage with his community, listen to their needs and respond with compassion and kindness.

He also urged him to prioritize leadership development, mentorship and training in order to equip the members with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
Also speaking at the event, Lion Nnamdi Eke, Service Chairperson, Fundraising and Public Prevention Chairperson, Lagos Elites Lions Club, said that the club will focus its attention on transforming lives in the Ayobo community in Lagos State.
According to him, following the need assessment survey, the club has identified key areas to key-start in Ayobo community where the club’s intervention will make a significant difference.

He said that the projects will include providing medical equipment, bed stands, mattresses and others for the Primary Health Centre in Ayobo.
Other projects include renovating and constructing six toilets for students at Ayobo primary and secondary schools, installing boreholes in Ayobo primary and secondary schools and providing writing materials, tables, and chairs for three government-accredited schools in the area.
He stated that the initiatives are aimed at improving public health, sanitation and education in the community.
Lion Bars Kingsley Nwoke, Zone 5C chairperson of the district, charged members of the new club to work as a team to grow the club.

He said the zone is one of the fastest zones in the district and charged members to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the zone.
The Zone 5C chairperson stated that the club will thrive because, according to him, Lion Nkwocha has the requisite experience, adding that the other officials and members are dedicated to taking the new club forward.
