Now That The Elections Are Over: Time To Build Anambra Together

IZUCHUKWU ADICHIE

We have come a long way in the last 8 months of electioneering and accomplished a lot to be proud of. The election has come and gone, and winners emerged, while those not satisfied with the outcome will fight within the confines of the law to the end. In all, the task of building the Anambra State of our own must continue to take precedence over all other considerations.

Let me salute Governor Soludo for ensuring that just concluded elections in Anambra are peaceful. Let me thank him for also ensuring that parties, candidates, and their supporters enjoyed equal security, a level playing ground, and no government interference. It is on record that Anambra witnessed no violence. Soludo has further “deeply institutionalized” the Anambra way of politics where politicians play politics today, and meet at a function tomorrow to share jokes and throw banters.

Now that the election is over, let me thank the opposition for fighting a good fight, and my deepest gratitude to the people of Anambra State. The National and State House of Assembly members-elect of the other parties should realize the ultimate vision of our founding fathers. For a truly united, secure, and prosperous homeland, the Soludo government needs all the support to achieve its bold vision.
