Nwankpo As The Next Governor Of Anambra State

As the 2021 Governorship election beckons in Anambra, the office of the Governor has received renewed interests from Anambra South Senatorial zone in the state.  So far, in All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, there are three governorship frontliners, Rt. Hon Chukwuma Umeoji, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, jostling for the party’s ticket.

According to the clean feeds received from the faithful and committed members of APGA, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo has been viewed as the major contender for the ticket. He is most cherished and loved by many, irrespective of party affiliations, and political associations. Thousands of APGA party loyalists had breathed a heavy sigh of relief in celebration of his bold declaration to contest for the office of the Governor. In fact, the wild celebration cuts across party lines, ndi Anambra are profoundly excited to welcome Nwankpo to the governorship race. Most APGA stakeholders, and generals at the grassroot appears more comfortable with Akachukwu Nwankpo and have vowed to deliver him at the forthcoming party primaries.

In this article, we identify qualities that Nwankpo will  be bringing to bear as the next Governor of Anambra State.

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is a Unifier; APGA needs a Governor that will unite the party with the people of Anambra, and ensure that the elements that seek to divide the state, through selfish lines are dealt with.
Nwankpo’s appointments will reflect a proper representation of Anambra’s unity and will leverage on the institutions that drive both local and national cohesion.

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is a Strong Believer in the Separation of Powers; He is a strong believer in the separation of powers between the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary, which is a key component in strengthening democracy. This is vital to ensuring that all arms of the government are allowed to perform their roles without interference or violation of procedures. 

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Respects the Rule of Law; In 2021, Anambra will require a leader that has high value and respect for the rule of law and the provisions of the constitution of the nation. Akachukwu Nwankpo will be guided by the precepts of the law.

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is Pro-Business; Ndi Anambra are known as a people with a high display of entrepreneurship that covers all sectors from services to manufacturing, commerce and trade. For Anambra’s economy to thrive, it needs a “Pro-Business Governor” who will ensure that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMES) have a conducive environment to grow and contribute to the internally generated revenue IGR. 

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Understands Pro-Growth Economic Policies; Akachukwu Nwankpo’s admimistration will drive bold growth economic policies, that will attract huge investments in the state.Pro-Growth economic policies will see more significant investments in infrastructure, creation of job opportunities, diversification of the state’s revenue base amongst others. 

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo will Strengthen Key Institutions; Anambra will require strong institutions that are able to drive the processes of the state, without any form of undue interference. This is what the Akachukwu Nwankpo’s administration must be committed to, which is the strengthening of key institutions in the state, like the Anambra Internal Revenue Service(AIRS), amongst others. 

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is Pro-Youth;  With the demography of the youth in Anambra within the age of 18-35 constituting over 60% of the population, Anambra’s next Governor must be Pro-youth, driving policies that will encourage youth participation in the state’s socio-economic space. Akachukwu Nwankpo’s practical step will be at least 60% members of his cabinet will be within the age range of 30-40 years.

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is Gender Sensitive; Akachukwu Nwankpo’s administration will demonstrate a high sense of gender consciousness in appointments into the cabinet and other positions. He will have nothing less than 10 female commissioners from across the 21 Local Governments Areas of the state. 
This present administration led by His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, has done well as his cabinet have a representation of handful of women in various critical positions.

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Zero Tolerance for Corruption is non negotiable; In all the qualities expected of the next Governor of Anambra State, integrity and uprightness will be expected in a nation that is battling the gates and system of corruption. Akachukwu Nwankpo from his body language would show zero tolerance for corruption, while ensuring that anti corruption measures set up by his government are efficient and effective. He will lead by example by declaring his assets in a transparent manner and process. 

Support Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo to be the next Governor of Anambra State. APGA faithfuls should rally round “Oputa Ifeadi”, and present him with the party’s flag. He will make Anambra greater for ndi Anambra. He will consolidate on the successes recorded by Gov Willie Obiano, and do more.This is the golden opportunity we must not allow to slip away.This is the man with no godfather, with no political baggage, with no blemishes, with no secret deals with questionable characters, with no political dents, one who will lead our great party to victory at the polls, and sustain the progressive rise of our dear Anambra under APGA. 

Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is the new face of hope, the fresh breathe. The pride of our great party APGA and ndi Anambra in general. Truth be told, no other aspirants from the four major political parties in Anambra enjoys this massive goodwill and support from the people.
