The Chairman of the BOT of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, has alerted the general public about the illegal actions of a self acclaimed Chief Chika Nwokedi, who has been constituting nuisance alongside members of his unrecognised reactional group.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Dr Nnaji stated this on the heels of claims by Chief Nwokedi that he is the Chairman of authentic Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos in a publication on the social media.
Dr Nnaji stated, “For the records, Chief Chika Nwokedi is the purported pointman of a reactional group formed in 2023 during the crisis that engulfed the Igbo Speaking Community. The duly recognised group, Council of Ezendigbo, which Nwokedi is trying to impersonate, was founded in 2003 in a highly competitive electoral process supervised by the present President of the Igbo Speaking community, Chief Sunday Udeh and secretary. So the general public should know that everything about Nwokedi and his group is fake as they are not recognized by the BOT of the Igbo Speaking Community”.
Nnaji said not minding his lies and claims in different publications online, that he cannot join issues with Chief Nwokedi because investigations so far conducted showed that everything about him is fake including lifestyle, business and social status.
Dr Nnaji narrated that Nwokedi had earlier claimed that he was a traditional ruler of Obodoukwu town in Imo State and when an inquiry was made, it turned out to be fake.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the Igwe of Obodoukwu town is Obi Chika Dim and there is no Royal lineage to Chika Nwokedi’s family in Obodoukwu town.
“He faked and claimed that he is Igwe of the town because the traditional ruler of the town bears Chika as first name”
Dr Nnaji stated further that when he was caught in his deceit, Nwokedi shifted and claimed that he is no longer the Obi of Obodoukwu town but the Okpoko one of Obodoukwu town.
He claimed that his late father was the King and he inherited the throne despite the fact he is among the last children of the family.
” However, when an investigation was carried out again in Obodoukwu town, it was discovered that there is no title known in the town as Okpoko of Obodoukwu and when he was confronted with the fact, he became ashamed.
“When Chief Nwokedi discovered that he has been caught, he changed again and claimed that his father was the Okpoko in Onitsha town and it was discovered it was the name of late Eze Okpoko in Oba town he impersonated.
“He was shocked that the investigation exposed him, he quickly change that he is now Okpoko one of Okpoko community in Obodoukwu road in Onitsha in Anambra State.
“His life is full of lies and deceit and no one can vouch for his character and integrity because he is shameless ”
He said Nwokedi talks like a parrot on social media and only moves from one Police station to the other to share gifts in order to garner Police cover.

Dr Nnaji reiterated that the Council of Ezendigbo led by Eze Nnaemeka and the BOT had agreed that any Eze crowned during the Igbo Speaking Community crisis must be profiled by the BOT to known if such person was properly screened and met the conditions before he being crowned Ezendigbo in Lagos State.
He explained that there are standard guidelines and conditions to be met before the Igbo Speaking Community will crown any Ezendigbo, which includes that such person must provide letters from their traditional ruler and President General of his town union.
Also the person must be screened with addresses verified and means of livelihood ascertained before such person is crowned Ezendigbo and the Community must know and have the file of such person in their profile.
“Any person who doesn’t subject himself to such conditions for clearance from the BOT should not be considered as Eze” he said.
Dr Nnaji therefore, informed the general public that there is no parallel Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State and if any group or groups are parading themselves as Council of Ndieze and is not recognized by the BOT, such groups are fake and members of the public should beware of such groups.
By implication therefore, Chika Nwokedi, who is parading himself as Chairman of Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, is fake and should be disregarded by the members of the public.
Nnaji explained that the BOT is the custodian of the Igbo Speaking Community and any individual or group who cannot respect the BOT and claim to belong to the Igbo Speaking Community should think twice and should not be considered as members.
“You can only sue the BOT of the Igbo Speaking Community and not the Executives of the community if you have issues that should be resolved in Court,” he advised the purported impersonators.
