Obafemi Martins To Organise Chief Of Defence Staff Soccer Tourney In Abuja In October

An Obafemi Martins-inspired soccer tournament is set to debut in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, from 10-18 October 2025 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja

Report has it that Obafemi martins and his management team kings sports entertainment and has been scheduled to host a high-profile soccer tournament in honour of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of Nigeria.

According to the organisers, the aim of the tournament is to promote unity, wellness, discipline, camaraderie among members of the armed forces, paramilitary, patriotism, and national cohesion.

The competition to be called Chief of Defence Staff FCT Soccer Tournament, with the theme “Taking the Youth out of Streets”, is also targeted at promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and morale within the armed forces and associated bodies, create a platform for strategic engagement between security operatives and the public and also to inspire youth involvement in positive, patriotic activities through football.

The tournament will be organised in the U-16 and U-20 categories.
