Obasa U-16 Summer Championship Kicks Off With Goals Rain At Agege Venue
The opening day of the maiden Obasa Summer Under-16 Championship was a feast of goals as the two two matches decided at the match venue recorded outstanding performance.
The first game decided between Zion Football Academy and Premier Skills Football Academy ended in favour of Zion with 3-1 result. Posibi Taiwo of Zion called the three goals, while Nurudeen Ayomide scored the lone goal for Premier Skills FA
The second game between Flourish FA and Adwaaik SA produced six goals in favour of Adwaaik with goals from Parkinson Isaac (3 goals), Ademola jonathan (1 goal) and Oladosun Abiodun(2 goals).
The Most Valuable Players of the two matches received gifts from the organisers.
A lot of soccer fans all over Lagos state came to watch the tournament. Top notch medical officials were also at hand, free foods, drinks, books were also shared.
The matches were delight to watch as scouts from Dubai and also the United Kingdom are on ground to monitor proceedings.
The fight for the N2 million prize monies continue with teams vowing to outdo one another as the tournament progresses.
The grand finale and closing ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 30 August 2025.
A total of 16 male teams under the age of 16—eight each from Agege and Orile Agege—and four female teams (free age) will battle for glory across two key venues: Idea Primary School, Tabontabon, Orile Agege and Oniwaya High School, Agege.
The competition will feature 38 thrilling matches—34 male fixtures and 4 female games—ensuring weeks of pulsating action for fans and scouts alike.
In the male category, champions will take home ₦600,000, runners-up ₦400,000, and third-place finishers ₦300,000. For the female category, winners will be awarded ₦350,000, with second and third places receiving ₦250,000 and ₦100,000 respectively.
