Odo-Nla Royal Family Announces Leadership Restructuring For Inclusive Governance

Posted on September 3, 2025
The Oba Odeyemi Royal Family of Odo-Nla has officially announced a major restructuring of the leadership of the Omo’ba Meta Royal Family.
This strategic move was aimed at strengthening internal governance and ensuring more inclusive and effective representation of the Odo-Nla Kingdom at both local and state levels.
Following a formal endorsement at the recent Omo’ba Meta executive meeting, Prince Oluseye Mobolade Adedipe, FCA, has been appointed as the new Olotu Omo’ba Meta (Family Head General) and will lead the family under the revered Oba Odeyemi Adeesho Ademuyewo a.k.a. Ofinran Royal lineage.
Alongside Prince Adedipe, the following esteemed individuals have been named official representatives of the royal family to the Ikorodu High Court and the Ikeja Chieftaincy Tribunal: Chief Shamsideen Shofolawe Bakare, Oluwo of Odo-Nla and Chief Sodiq Gbade Bakare, Raselu of Odo-Nla.
These appointments pay tribute to the legacy of the late Otunba Afolabi Ekiyoyo, former Olotu Omo’ba Meta, whose leadership and devotion to the Odo-Nla community remain a guiding light.
The royal family also expresses deep appreciation to Mr. Omotolani Ogunsami, the outgoing General Secretary, for his dedicated service. In his place, Prince Muritala Alade from the Upenyenwa lineage has been appointed as the new General Secretary of the Omo’ba Meta Royal Family.
In a further step towards inclusive governance, the former G6 Executive Committee has been dissolved and reconstituted as the G11 Executive Committee, incorporating broader representation from all three ruling houses: Ogbodo, Raselu, and Upenyenwa.
The newly formed G11 Executive Committee includes: Olotu Omo’ba Meta – Family Head (General), Olotu Ogbodo, Olotu Raselu, Olotu Upenyenwa, Treasurer, General Secretary, Omo’ba Meta, Oloye Ogbodo, Oloye Raselu, Oloye Upenyenwa, Oluwo of Odo-Nla, Apena of Odo-Nla
Prince Oluseye Mobolade Adedipe FCA, the new Olotu Omoba Meta stated: “As we step into this new chapter, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to unity, tradition, transparency, and progress—in service of the royal family and the broader Odo-Nla community. With the grace of God Almighty and the blessings of our forefathers, we shall advance together toward a future of peace, dignity, and honour. This restructuring takes immediate effect, and the Omo’ba Meta Royal Family remains steadfast in its mission to promote harmony, uphold cultural heritage, and serve the interests of the Odo-Nla people,” Adedipe said.
