Odunmbaku Inaugurates Farmer’s Executives & Promises Food Security

Posted on May 10, 2024

“Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness” – Thomas Jefferson.

It is against this backdrop that Hon. Segun Odunmbaku inaugurated the Executive Members of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Ojodu LCDA Branch.

The body, (AFAN), is expected to provide training and capacity building programmes that will help farmers to improve their skills and knowledge, which in turn will increase their productivity and yields.

While taking cognizance of the import of food security and the impact of farmers as the economic lifeblood of any society, the Ojodu Mayor is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that all necessary paraphernalia and structures are provided.

“Farmers are the life wire for food production, without farmers the nation will be hit by food scarcity, which could be a threat to human life and existence. You’re very precious to us and the administration will leave no stone unturned to ensuring that you get the necessary support for seamless agricultural productivity”, Odunmbaku said.

This move corroborates the Executive Chairman’s determination to empower the citizens especially at this crucial time of economic upheaval. At the grassroots, he is working in sync with the State and Federal governments without leaving any lacuna. Another example of such commitment is the upcoming intensive hydroponics (soilless farming) training for youth within the LCDA.

Also present at the event were the newly inaugurated committee members headed by Mr. Iyun Oluwafemi, Secretary to the Local Government Hon Olaide Bello (who represented the Executive Chairman), Supervisor for Agriculture Hon Wale Larinde, and the HOD Agric and Social Services, Mrs Oluwakemi Omisore.
