Ahead of the 2023 general elections and the ban on public campaigns lifted by INEC, Hon. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu has continued to garner the support of the relevant stakeholders and electorate in his re-election bid.

The lawmaker, who has done creditably well in his first stint at the Green Chambers, given his account of stewardship, which are all in-demand projects and empowerment programmes for constituents, is in pole position to beat other contenders and continue his stay at the National Assembly.
So far, over 40 self-funding groups have thrown their support behind Ofumelu, with each group pledging to mobilize one thousand votes to ensure the victory of the Ayamelum-born project master.
Ofumelu, who recently flagged off his eleventh classroom block in his Constituency at Community Secondary School, Igbakwu and has assured of flagging off other projects as voted in the 2022 budget before the next election, will go down in Oyi and Ayamelum history as the only lawmaker representing the Federal Constituency to have attracted a project in all thirteen (13) communities that comprise Oyi and Ayamelum.
A few of these projects include a road project in Nteje with a spur to the Anambra Airport; a road project in Omor-Umerum and Anaku. Classroom blocks in both Nteje and Awkuzu communities; Omor, Omasi, Umueje, Umumbo. pipe-borne water in Umunya, Ogbunike, and Nkwelle-Ezunaka. Renovation of the Anambra-Imo River Basin and a host of other projects.
The over 40 self-funding support groups gave their support on the grounds of the achievements of the lawmaker, who they said has shown integrity, leadership, and service.
With the commencement of the campaign, the group has assured to take the Ofumelu gospel to every nook and crannie of the constituency and ensure that no one is left behind in the Ofumelu project.
“The reward for a job well-done is the opportunity to do more. Hence, we have thrown unalloyed support for Hon. Vincent Ofumelu to ensure that he emerges victorious and continue his people oriented representation.”
