Team Make Ogbunike Great (TMOG) has canvassed for the revival and sustenance of Ogbunike culture and tradition, bemoaning the near extinction of Igbo language among the new generation of Ogbunike people.

This position was taken during the maiden edition of the Ogbunike Leadership Summit 2023, where I decried the daily erosion of our culture by the new generation of Ogbunike people. I said such erosion, if allowed unchecked, portends grave danger to the future of the Ogbunike town. I stressed that young people of Ogbunike have almost forgotten the Igbo language, way of greeting, signs and symbols, cuisines and dress codes, which are the hallmark of one’s culture.

Yes, I bemoaned the negative impact of ‘borrowed’ or ‘imported’ culture on the youths, which in my view was largely contributing to the social woes the Igbo society and Nigerian nation at large is presently facing.

I maintained that Team Make Ogbunike Great (TMOG) will always carry out research works geared towards reviving and sustaining the cultural heritage of the Ogbunike community. The Ogbunike culture is so rich and laden with moral lessons to be relegated to the background, hence the frantic efforts being made by all stakeholders to revive and sustain it.

Ogbunike, something is cooking, very exciting, stimulating and engaging!
