Ogun West Agenda: Oba Olugbenle Intensifies Statewide Alliance With Strategic Egba Engagement
DEOLA ADEYEMI

In furtherance of ongoing consultations toward a successful outing for Ogun West in 2027, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas, earlier today, 7th April 2026, led a delegation of Ogun West Obas to a strategic engagement with Egba Obas, led by His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Micheal Adedotun Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta.

Notably, the Paramount Ruler had previously led similar engagements with the Ijebu and Remo Traditional Councils to canvass support for Ogun West’s 2027 governorship ambition. The primary objective is to present a united front by adopting a capable, popular, credible, and widely acceptable candidate with verifiable records of service to the people.

Today’s engagement with the Egba Obas and Chiefs followed the same trajectory, aimed at further consolidating statewide support for Ogun West’s long-term aspiration to occupy the Gateway State’s top seat.
His Majesty strongly believes that the Ogun West Agenda has a statewide scope, and all stakeholders must be properly engaged for its actualization. His Majesty expresses profound appreciation to the Alake of Egbaland, Oba (Dr.) Micheal Adedotun Gbadebo, and other Egba kings and chiefs for the warm reception.
Indeed, the Ogun West Agenda is divinely inspired, and 2027 represents a date with destiny. Ogun West is fortunate to have a monarch capable of providing the requisite leadership, departing from the previous culture of passivity and instead actively shaping the course of events.
