Ohanaeze: Chief Anslem Njoku Blasts Chief Ossai, Ozonweke During Peace Meeting With Chief Aguene
KINGSLEY EBERE
The peace meeting initiated by Chief Anselm Njoku (Akuweje) between the president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene and embattled Chief Sunday Ossai has collapsed after Ossai’s group snubbed him and did not attend the meeting.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Chief Njoku was visibly angry at the meeting and alleged that Chief Ossai insulted him and was being misled by self acclaimed Ohanaeze Ndigbo Southwest zone, Chief Everest Ozonweke and that was why Ossai did not attend the meeting.
He wondered why Ozonweke will be claiming to be Ohanaeze Southwest Coordinator whereas he was not an elected President of Ohanaeze and promised to ensure it was scrapped by the National body if actually the position existed because there is no Northern and Eastern Coordinators of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
He declared that the meeting will be the last meeting he will call over the matter and he will write his report to the Police and Ohanaeze General Assembly NEC on the recommendations and back off from the matter.
While Chief Njoku was furious over the insult on him, he did not know that Chief Sunday Ossai was so angry and bitter over the role he played by luring him into the election.
Chief Ossai was said to have complained bitterly that Njoku deceived and misled him to spend huge sums of money for the election whereas Njoku knew Chief Aguene had consent judgment in his favour from the Lagos High Court.
Chief Ossai was said to be so angry and claimed to be tired of the whole thing because he never knew that Chief Aguene had consent judgment and Njoku, who was his campaign Coordinator, knew that but did not inform him and is now calling for peace while he is now being investigated by the Police.
On the side of Chief Ozonweke, he was said to be angry with Chief Njoku to have supported Ossai and he was defeated in the election in a suspicious manner and Ossai was declared the president after spending huge sums of money during the election.
At the meeting, which was held at the stadium, in attendance were Chief Thompson Ohia, who is Chief of Staff to Ohanaeze President – Chief Solomon Aguene, General Secretary, Chief Gabby Oseke, Eze Eziokwu, who is the Chairman of all Chairmen of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos. But Ossai and his group did not attend whereas Chief Njoku came with his own group.
According to the Ohanaeze General Secretary, Njoku acknowledged that Chief Solomon Aguene has valid consent judgment of the Lagos State High Court. He suggested that Chief Aguene should take another position to the National level because he had done extremely well to rebrand Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.
However, he was told that Aguene was not looking for any position and what they needed to do was to go back to the High Court and vacate the Court judgment, which ended the meeting in a deadlock.
The peace initiative was conceived by Chief Njoku after he went to the Police and asked them to allowed him to make peace with the parties, which the Police granted him.
The meeting was scheduled by Njoku but Ossai’s group did not attend, which means the parties will go back to the Police and allow the Police to continue the investigation and possibly charge the matter before Court for final resolution.
