The crisis within the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State may be coming to an end following the constitution of 62-man electoral committee headed by the former President of Ohanaeze, Chief Oliver Akubueze (Miri), to conduct a free and fair election for new executives.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that top among the list are Ezendigbo of Lagos State, Eze  Christian Nwachukwu, chairman of Council of Ezendigbo, Eze Chika Nwokedi, Igbo Speaking Community BoT Chairman, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, Chief Sunday Ossai, Chief John Uche, Eze John Nwosu, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze and many others, with the mandate to conduct the election for the new executives, who Chief Aguene will hand over to by next year.
This was confirmed by the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, who announced the constitution of the electoral committee in his address made available to the press titled : “The Only Way Forward For Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos”.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Electoral Committee to conduct election to elect new executives, which Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos will handover to.”
“Enugu national body of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has no right to conduct election in any chapter. But it is their right to observe election in any chapter.”
“We must correct the mistakes of the past because that is where the crises in state chapters are coming from.”
“Some, who are national executives, who have no jobs but claiming to have jobs are using the crises of state chapters to collect money from the oppositions.”
“The truth must be told if Ohanaeze Ndigbo wants to get it right. There should be no zoning of the office of the President in any state chapter in order to get competent person as President because Ohanaeze Ndigbo is not a political structure, where godfathers endorse candidates of their choice.”
“You cannot be living in Kano, Abuja, Imo or Ebonyi and become the president of any other state chapter that you are not resident in. But as President General, you can live in any state. You can be living in Port Harcourt, Abuja or even in America, because the candidate is for the state it is zoned to.”
“There is no state that does not have competent people that can be President General. But in some states, town unions may not be able to produce compete person as their president in diaspora.”
The President General position is zoned to a particular state and indigenes of that state can contest irrespective of where they live in the world.”
“I contested against two aspirants from Anambra State as an Ebonyi man and I defeated them. That was what made me the capacity president.”
“The immediate past president, Barrister Fabian Onwughalu, contested against an Enugu man, Silvanus Egesi, former NIMASA Director, a multi-billionaire but he was defeated by an Anambra man.”
“So, zoning cannot work in the state chapters. Above all, zoning is not in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Constitution.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo must be ahead of any other association of Ndigbo irrespective of the personal profile of the leader and the members of the association.”
“Few members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos can only be invited as delegates.
Also, selected members of Aka Ikenga, market associations will be invited as delegates including the Igbo Speaking Community.”
“All the above mentioned organizations are all under Ohanaeze Ndigbo anywhere in the world.
With this proper arrangement, there will be everlasting peace in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos and every other chapters.”
“If this direction is followed, all the crises in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos will come to an end. All the court cases will end.
But if not followed, Ndigbo will have more than three Eze Ndigbo General in Lagos even as the late Eze Ndigbo Lagos, Eze Nwabueze Ohazuruike has not been given befitting burial. And another one factional president will spring up in Lagos to make it two.
“This is not about information but the truth. But wherever it goes, I will play along.
With the Consent Judgement in my hand, 1000 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs, cannot vacate the judgement and there is no date on the Consent Judgement but my name is Udochia and I need peace for the interest of Ndigbo in Lagos.”
