Ohanaeze Ndigbo Endorses Tinubu Re-election Bid, Yayi’s Governorship Quest

The apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ogun State Chapter, has endorsed the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the candidature of Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the 2027 presidential election and governorship election in Ogun State, respectively.
This announcement was made when the President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ogun State Chapter, Eze Stephen Okorie, led a 5-man delegation to pay a courtesy visit to Senator Adeola over the weekend.
During the visit, Okorie informed Senator Adeola that the group would be conferring the chieftaincy title of “Dike Eji Eje Mba” on him.
Eze Okorie further disclosed that the installation ceremony for the chieftaincy title, slated for the end of the month in Abeokuta, will also witness the open endorsement of the Senator and the declaration of Igbos to support all APC candidates in Ogun State.
He revealed that he has installed 5 campaign billboards for Tinubu and Senator Adeola (Yayi) across the state on behalf of the Igbos, and has produced numerous campaign materials for the Senator.
“I have been a resident in Ogun State for the last 36 years, living in Owode-Yewa in Yewa South LGA. We have been watching the politics and development in Ogun State. Based on the massive development that Senator Adeola has attracted to Ogun State in the last three years, particularly in the areas of market infrastructure and road construction to promote trade and commerce, the Igbos have no hesitation in endorsing the Senator for Governor of Ogun State,” he stated.
Expressing appreciation for the gesture, Senator Adeola disclosed that while in Lagos, the Igbos equally supported his political journey, with the Eze Ndi Igbo in Lagos conferring on him the title of “Dike Di Ora Nma” of Lagos State.
“My brand of politics is politics of inclusion and delivery of good governance for all the people. When roads, schools, hospitals and other infrastructures are constructed, it is for the good of all and all law- abiding Nigerians are welcome to do business and make progress in Ogun State,” he said.
