Ojodu LCDA Holds Stakeholders’ Forum For 2026 Budget — A Model Of Inclusive Governance

Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, today convened its Budget Stakeholders’ Forum in preparation for the 2026 fiscal year budget in an interactive session at the Council Secretariat Hall, which brought together a broad representation of the community stakeholders to deliberate on development priorities and offer constructive inputs toward the upcoming budget.

In his opening address, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, reaffirmed that the forum underscores Ojodu LCDA’s commitment to transparent and people-centered governance. He stated that the engagement reflects the council’s belief that “governance is not done for the people, but with the people,” describing the forum as a vital tool for aligning government policies with the real needs of residents.

Highlighting the administration’s achievements, Odunmbaku cited the employment of 161 health workers, modernization of three Primary Healthcare Centres, empowerment of over 2,000 residents and construction of 25 roads, distribution of 3,000 free JAMB and GCE forms with 4,700 pupils trained in digital literacy and ₦109 million in interest-free loans to residents.

A major highlight of the event was the breakout session, where stakeholders from each of the six wards brainstormed and submitted community-based projects for possible inclusion in the 2026 budget.

At the event were the Vice Chairman, Alhaja Funmilayo Layeni, Legislative Leader, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira and Honourable Councillors of the Legislative Arm, Management Staff, Traditional Rulers, Community and Party Leaders, Religious Leaders, Youth and Women Representatives.
