Olowo Cup Final Holds 20 July
The final matches for the 1st edition of Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, Olowo of Owo Football Soccer Competition will be played at Owo Stadium in Owo, Ondo State on Tuesday, 20 July, 2021.
The final, which will be played by 3pm, will see Uso Community Grammar School, Uso taking on Imade College, Owo.
Preceding the final tie is the third-place game scheduled for 1pm between Owo High School, Owo and Adeyeri Grammar School, Iyere-Owo.
The final ceremony will be chaired by the enthusiast sports loving Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, while the Special Guest of Honour is the Executive Governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, to be ably supported by other dignitaries.
According to the Secretary of the event planning committee, Olatunbosun Oladimeji, ‘Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye III, will lead all other Royal Fathers and chiefs to host the most popular sporting activities in Owo kingdom.
This year’s event is the first edition of the Olowo’s football competition for secondary schools in the Owo local government council area since his installation on August 7th, 2019.
Over 68 colleges in Owo Local Government area of Ondo State (both public and private schools) started the competition.
