Oluwa, Adenekan, Others Commends Council Boss Okeowo’s Outstanding Performance During 2-Day Projects Inspection Tour

The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has received widespread praise from party leaders and community members following an extensive two-day inspection tour of completed and ongoing projects in the Local Council by some Apex leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC from the State, led by Alhaji Mutiu Are, the Secretary of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC); Alhaji Tunde Balogun, erstwhile Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC; and others.

The tour, which took place on the 14th and 15th October, 2024, highlighted the Chairman’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community development.

The inspection tour commenced with a community forum where stakeholders had the opportunity to voice their feedback and suggestions directly to the inspecting team.

Prince Rabiu Adio Oluwa, The Lagos West Senatorial Leader and the GAC Member, Hon. Taiwo Oyewole Adenekan, Erstwhile Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA; Alhaji Bolaji Idowu, the CDC Chairman; Chief Imam Jeje, who spoke on behalf of the NIREC; and Chief Lateef Alade Olatunji, the Chieftaincy Council Committee Chairman and others expressed their admiration for Okeowo’s hands-on approach and dedication to serving the community. They said his ability to connect with the community sets a standard for all elected officials and that he is the best to serve the LCDA.

Additionally, they all emphasized that It is refreshing to see a leader who is not only focused on results but also on engaging the community throughout the development process.

After the deliberations, the inspecting team joined by Hon. Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul, PhD, the Federal House of Representatives Member, AJIF; also witnessed the distribution of 1500 food palliatives to the indigent, the second phase of the disbursement of 10,000 Naira Social Security Money to 500 aged, 500 unemployed youths, 200 young families and 50,000 Naira to 100 petty traders while 1200 residents were mobilized into the LASHMA, Ilera Eko Free health program, where each resident is expected to enjoy free health facilities.

During the inspection, Hon. Lukman Sa’ad Olumoh the Lawmaker representing the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly also joined the team to visit various project sites, including the ongoing Executive Building which is located inside the Council Secretariat and the Primary Health Centre at Oriodilu Community. Other projects that they visited are Olubuade, Muda, Coker, Market, and Apasa Streets, where they assessed progress.

Among other projects visited are the 14 Water Systems and the ongoing construction of roads and drainages on Adegboyega/Edidi, Igbaja, Olokodana, Ladega, Ofure, Fijabi and Ogungbe Streets.

The tour showcased the tangible impact of the local government’s initiatives on community welfare, economic development, and infrastructure improvement.

As the local government continues to prioritize development and community engagement, Mayor Okeowo’s leadership during this inspection tour underscores a commitment to progress and accountability that resonates deeply within the community.
