ONC Pays Courtesy Visit To Ahoada Divisional Police Officer
Respected socio-cultural group in the Niger Delta region, the Orashi National National Congress, ONC, has paid a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer, SP Adewale Nureni.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the group, led by Snr. Comrade Emeni Ibe, paid the visit on Wednesday 5th June, 2024.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the delegation, Amb. Emeni Ibe, said, “On behalf of the good people of Orashi Region in Rivers State, which comprises Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State, we the executive council and the entire membership of the congress have come to thank you and register our deepest appreciation for the success recorded in the division since your assumption of office as the DPO especially the bringing to book and the recovery of the decomposing body of the most wanted cult leader in Ahoada area AKA known as Mr. Gift David Okpara (2 baba) on the 22nd of February, 2024 at about 12:00hrs”.
“Indeed our people are filled with joy that knows no bounds and reposed confidence in the efficiency of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies for doing the needful. We have seen the posting of DPOs to the Division since time immemorial, never can anyone be compared to you. Our people said that we should make this strong statement that you are the best DPO in Ahoada and we owe no one any apology to say so. In fact, you are the very best. We extend our appreciation to the Commissioner of Police and Inspector General of Police for the support given to the Ahoada Police Division. We also appreciate the Nigerian Air force etc and the Rivers State Government. Our prayer is that God Almighty will reward you. Special appreciation needs to be extended to the Divisional Police officer of Akinima, he deserve special recognition and commendation.”
“In recognition and appreciation of your incomparable effort, may I crave your indulgence to present this award of honour to you as the best DPO just to say thank you.”
“We lack words to express the profound gratitude of our people but all we can say is a big thank you and you can rest assured of our continued cooperation in ensuring a peaceful community and society that is based on the rule of law.”
“We appeal to you to use your good office to relax the curfew from 8 to 10 O’ clock to ensure free movement as there is no longer any cause for alarm. And we also wish to use this medium of our visit to solicit for your support for our forthcoming Orashi Peace, Unity and Security Summit 2024, wherein top security officials in the state and Orashi are expected to attend, and within now and 13th of June we will communicate your good office of the date for the summit.”
“In the light of the above, it is our earnest prayer that the Almighty God, who provides the sea that never ran dry, continually, replenish you and continue to carry you on the wings of his Grace in all fronts” the ONC concluded.
In his response, SP Adewale Nureni thanked the Orashi National Congress for the visit. He dedicated the award to IGP Kayode Egbetokun and the Commissioner of Police, CP Tunji Disu.
He commended the ONC for their efforts in preaching peace in the region. He promised to support the group’s forthcoming security summit and ensure adequate provision of Police personnel throughout the summit.
SP Nureni equally assured the group that his doors are wide open for collaborations and constructive engagements.
