The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has constituted a special committee to oversee activities marking the birthday celebration of Her Excellency, Prof. (Mrs.) Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State and Grand Patroness of the Orashi National Congress.
The decision was reached at the end of a strategic meeting held by the Congress in Ahoada, Rivers State, where members resolved to celebrate the Deputy Governor in a unique and impactful way.
According to the statement issued by the leadership of the Congress, the committee will coordinate a series of charitable visits to motherless babies’ homes, orphanages, and destitute centers across the Orashi region. This initiative, the Congress noted, is aimed at reflecting the compassionate spirit and humanitarian values exemplified by Prof. Odu throughout her years of public service.
The event, scheduled for 19th October, 2025, will bring together members of the Orashi National Congress, community leaders, women groups, and youths across the region.
The Congress emphasized that the outreach will not only celebrate the life and leadership of Prof. Odu but also extend love and support to vulnerable members of society.
Speaking after the meeting, the President General of the Orashi National Congress, Amb. Emeni Ibe, expressed that the gesture aligns with the Congress’s vision of promoting unity, service, and community development within the Orashi nation.
He added that Prof. Odu remains a source of pride to the people of Orashi and Rivers State at large, describing her as “a woman of excellence, compassion, and integrity whose leadership continues to inspire many.”
The Congress therefore, called on stakeholders and well-meaning individuals across the region to join in the outreach activities as a demonstration of collective goodwill and appreciation for the Deputy Governor’s contributions to the growth and peace of Rivers State.
