One Spark In Burkina Faso: The Uncontrollable Fire In The Oppressor’s House

The death that killed the mother hen will never sit to watch her kids grow. But life has a way of returning the consequences of injustice to those who perpetrate it. For decades, Western powers exploited Africa’s resources while preaching democracy and freedom. France, in particular, has faced accusations of maintaining neocolonial influence over its former colonies. Today, Africa is resisting, and the old order is collapsing.

France’s historical relationship with Africa has been marked by economic dominance, military interventions, and political influence. Across the continent, citizens are questioning why independence has not translated into widespread prosperity. The demand is clear: African resources must serve African people, not sustain foreign privilege.

Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger have become symbols of this resistance by ending important military partnerships with France. Their actions represent more than diplomatic disagreements; they reflect a growing determination to reclaim national sovereignty and challenge decades of perceived external domination.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré has emerged as a powerful symbol of this awakening. His message of self-reliance and Pan-African solidarity has inspired many young Africans frustrated by poverty, insecurity and foreign interference. A movement once represented by individual voices is becoming a broader demand for African independence.

The withdrawal of French forces from several African countries signals a significant shift. As former colonies reconsider their relationships with Paris, France’s traditional influence is weakening. The colonial order may have formally ended decades ago, but the structures sustaining its influence are now facing determined resistance.

France and other European nations are experiencing economic hardship, violent protests, and destructive riots, while Africa’s growing resistance is challenging the old order that once sustained their influence. Europe must confront a changing reality: its former sphere of influence in Africa is no longer guaranteed. It must look inward for sustainable solutions rather than continue the exploitative practice of dipping into another man’s pot. No nation should have to suffer for another to prosper, and Africa must no longer be sacrificed for Europe’s survival.

For generations, unequal economic relationships have benefited powerful nations while leaving many African countries struggling. As Africans reclaim control over resources and strategic decisions, the privileges once enjoyed by foreign powers are increasingly being challenged. The consequences of historical exploitation are becoming harder to ignore.

Yet, expelling France is not liberation’s final destination. African governments must replace dependency with industrialisation, accountable leadership, security, and prosperity. Otherwise, yesterday’s oppressors may simply be replaced by new masters, leaving ordinary citizens trapped in the same suffering.

The greatest threat to colonial influence is an awakened African mind. Mental Revolution For Societal Evolution. When people reject inferiority, demand accountability, and unite around self-determination, the foundations of domination begin to crumble. The revolution is therefore not merely political; it is psychological, cultural, and economic.

Ibrahim Traore may be a symbol, but Africa’s awakening belongs to its people. The old order is being challenged by nations increasingly determined to control their destinies. Africa is rising, and those who once treated the continent as a possession must now confront a new reality: the oppressed are finding their voice, reclaiming their power, and challenging the foundations of their oppressors’ dominance.

Africa it is now or never.
