In celebration of this year’s Valentine’s Day, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife through his Hopesalive Initiative for Africa (HAI) NGO stormed several community hospitals across the nation for its 7th Annual Valentine’s Newborn Outreach Program.

This heartwarming initiative aims to welcome newborn babies and bring smiles to the face of their families by providing them with essential gifts and necessities.

The program, now in its 7th year, extends its reach as usual to include Lagos State and a state in the eastern region, precisely, Enugu State. The extended reach in this edition was made possible through the generous support of co-sponsors, collaborators and volunteers who share our vision of spreading love and kindness throughout our communities.

The NGO was able to deliver care packages filled with baby essentials to hospitals and families present across three states namely: Osun, Enugu and Lagos.

The co-operation from our supporters were heartwarming but worthy of note was the collaboration of the Office of the First Lady, Enugu State Government in launching this impactful initiative in Enugu State.

The Valentine’s Newborn Outreach Program was held simultaneously on the 14th February 2023 across these three states. Volunteers worked tirelessly to assemble care packages and distribute them to hospitals and families who had new additions during this season. Each care package includes essential items such as diapers, clothing, blankets, toiletries, to mention a few ensuring that newborns receive the care and support they deserve.

“Our Valentine’s Newborn Outreach Program is a demonstration of the power of love, compassion and generosity because we believe that every newborn deserves to be welcomed into the world with love and care,” said Her Regal Majesty, Olori Amb. Dr Temitope Ogunwusi-Enitan, the Deputy Convener of HAI.

“We are thrilled to continue this tradition of giving back to our community and brightening the lives of newborns and their families, especially during this special time of year.

“Through our Valentine’s Newborn Outreach Program, we hope to make a positive impact in the lives of these precious little ones and their families.”

Hopesalive Initiative for Africa (HAI) invites members of the community to join in spreading love and kindness this month of love, and every day they are given the opportunity to do so. Whether through volunteering, sponsorship, or donations, every contribution can make a difference in the lives of someone including the newest members of the society and their precious families.

Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi could not hide his gladness and appreciation to all the sponsors and collaborators of the Valentine Newborn Outreach 2024, adding that the HAI would forever be grateful for their kindness and their philanthropic heart.
