Organisers Read Riot Act Ahead U-13 Glory League In Lagos

As part of preparation ahead of U-13 Glory Football League, Chairman Organising Committee, Prince Wale Atiba has warned the participating teams to be adhere to the rules and regulation and avoid any vices that can tarnish the image of the league.

Addressing the team’s coaches at the seminar held on Saturday, Atiba said the league would commence on early March in Lagos but admonished the participating teams to see the league as a friendly not a do or die affairs.

He explained that the Glory League would be played in one venue and urged the coaches and players to be of good conduct throughout the league saying that any coach violates the rules would be sanctioned accordingly.

“We want to make sure that this league is standardized and attract sponsors. We are not going to condone any act of indiscipline especially among the coaches, Team managers and club owners. It is not about winning but to give the young lads the necessary exposure that would make them to face the future challenges,” he said.

 Atiba also warned the coaches not to parade players that are above the age bracket during the screening exercise noted that any coach parades illegible players would be sanctioned.

Twelve tams are expected to participate in the maiden edition of the league. Among the academies showed interest are Atico Football Academy, Fortune Football Academy, Makogi Football Academy, Simario Football Academy and Amsterdam Football Academy.

 In his own remark, Ex international, Wasiu Ipaye also cautioned the coaches to desist from vices that can bring the league into disrepute. He said the league is organized to keep the young players busy and give them necessary exposure. He revealed that the league would bring many young players to limelight and urged the coaches to parade players that are not averaged..
