Oshodi’s NJF Board Will Be Greatest Ever – Edokpolor

Erstwhile national judo coach, Edokpolor Ihaza has predicted that the new board of the Nigeria Judo Federation, NJF would be the greatest ever.

Ihaza who was reacting to the emergence of Dr. Musa Oshodi as the President of the NJF noted that judo has had some great helmsmen in the past.

“But now, the greatest board has arrived”, he declared.

Going down memory lane, he recalled “We have had some great Presidents in the past like Chief Adolphus Okafor and former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

“Both of them did a lot for judo. During their era, there were a lot of championships and judo was in category A of sports. There was also discipline in the judo community.”

“But now, I can stake everything I have that the present board headed by Dr. Musa Oshodi will achieve more than what the boards of Okafor and Kalu combined achieved.”

Edokpolor explained why he had so much faith in the new board. 

“I have known Oshodi as an active judoka, a coach, an administrator and entrepreneur.

“He’s a man with an indomitable spirit who doesn’t retreat in the face of challenges. He is focused and result-oriented. He is a great manager of men and resources.

He is a leader that inspires and motivates. He is kind to a fault.

“He has great ideas and he’s blessed with resources.”

Edokpolor added “Oshodi is God’s gift to Nigeria judo. 

The coach who’s a lecturer at the Nigeria Institute of Sports said the presence of Mr. Tunji Disu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police makes the board a dream team. According to him “With Mr. Tunji Disu also on the board, Nigerians should be expecting the return of Nigeria judo to its place of pride”.

“In all of Mr. Disu’s endeavours you see success. As a judoka, he was outstanding, as an administrator, he is top-notch and as a police officer, he is in a class of his own”.

Edokpolor said with the twosome and other members of the board, Nigeria judo won’t be the same again.

” Nigerian judokas have always prayed to have a board like this and through Oshodi and his loaded board, God has answered our prayers”.
