Oshorun Cup: Catamount Coach Speaks After Team’s Early Exit

Head coach of Catamount Football Club, John Babatunde has expressed disappointment over his team early exit in the ongoing Oshorun Saheed Paseda Football Competition.
The competition is a knock out format and kicked off early Monday morning at the rehabilitation sports center, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
Flexy Football Club defeated Catamount 6-5 on penalties after one goal apiece at the regulation centre.
Babatunde after the match commended his players for the good display but regretted that his players lost the game through penalties.
“It was a good game for us.We dominated the encounter and we scored beautiful goal but sadly we allowed our opponents to get equaliser before the half time.
“Penalty shootout is anybody game and my players did their best but unfortunately we lost our last kick which gave our opponents their victory to qualify for the quarter final stage,”he said.
In his own comment, Flexy coach, Washington Egor admitted that his opponents are good side but noted that his team were lucky to win the penalty shootout.
Speaking in the similar vein,team manager of Catamount, Olusegun Idris known as Dependable expressed shock over team’s defeat saying that his boys were unlucky during the penalty shootout.
He also commended the organisers for good organization and officiating and wished remaining teams all the best.
In other matches Tops FC also defeated 89 Champions 4-3 on penalties after 2-2 at the regulation time.
Fackson Tofido walloped Starbase 3-0 as Dosu Joseph Academy thrashed Unique FC 5-2.
Flexy, Tops FC, Fackson Tofido and Dosu Joseph Academy have booked a place in the quarter final.
The cup donor, high chief Saheed Paseda Oshorun ably represented by
Honourable Muftau Babalola Dada expressed satisfaction with the superb organisation of the tournament and commended all the teams for their gallant football display.
“This is commendable effort by the cup donor and the organisers.This competition has not only brought youths together in the community and its environs but it has kept youths busy during the festive period and I wish all the remaining teams in the competition best of luck,”he said.
Speaking in the same vein, the ex international, Dosu Joseph praised the cup donor for his contribution to the football development in the community and also commended all the participating teams for their good performance.
He also reminded the participants and fans to always abide by the rules and shun any social vices that can bring the tourney into disrepute.
Action continues today(Tuesday) as AD Red Bulls tackle Super Stars, while Toma clash with Shuffle Select.Prolific Stars battle Browl FC as Jadajohansa Football Academy face Westerlon Academy by 4pm.
